Masonry Reinforcement & Ladder Mesh – Structural Strength for CMU Walls

Masonry Reinforcement—including Ladder Mesh and Truss Mesh—is designed to enhance the structural performance and crack resistance of concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls. Installed horizontally in mortar joints, this reinforcement improves tensile strength, distributes loads more evenly, and helps control shrinkage cracking caused by temperature changes, settlement, or seismic activity.

At Bolsinger Rebar, we offer a full range of masonry reinforcement products that meet ASTM A951/A951M standards and are fabricated from high-strength cold-drawn steel wire. Our most popular option, Ladder Mesh, features two longitudinal wires connected by perpendicular cross wires that resemble ladder rungs. This configuration is ideal for single-wythe walls and provides excellent load distribution while allowing unobstructed vertical rebar placement.

For multi-wythe walls or situations where added diagonal reinforcement is needed, Truss Mesh is available with diagonal cross wires that improve shear resistance between wall sections. Both mesh types are available in standard widths to match 6", 8", 10", and 12" block sizes and are supplied in convenient 10' lengths for easy handling and installation.
